GRAVITON COMBI — Combined Drying & Curing Tower
A fully insulated static oven tower that dries natural stone slabs before resin application and cures them after resin treatment, with separate drying and curing chambers in one compact structure.
Overview
GRAVITON COMBI combines two independent thermal processes in one vertical structure: one chamber dries the slabs before resin application, while the other provides the controlled conditions required for epoxy or polyester resin polymerisation. The two chambers are physically separated and each has its own heating and air-circulation system, so drying and curing temperatures can be regulated independently according to the stone, the resin formulation and the production recipe. Bringing drying and curing capacity together in a single tower reduces the installation footprint.
Each slab is carried on its own tray, which is placed at an assigned level and remains stationary there until the programmed drying or curing time has been completed. An external vertical elevator aligns with the selected drying or curing level, and a motorised shuttle inserts the tray and retrieves it at the end of the cycle; pneumatically operated chamber hatches open during tray transfer and close immediately afterwards to limit heat loss. There is no fixed ratio between drying and curing capacity: a typical arrangement may include 15 drying and 30 curing levels, and alternatives such as 10 + 20 or other customer-specific combinations are possible. The number of levels in each chamber is selected according to the required slabs per hour, the drying and curing times, the slab dimensions and weight, and the available factory space and height.
GRAVITON COMBI can be supplied with electric-resistance or natural-gas-fired heating. Recirculating hot air is distributed through internal diffusers, and steel airflow guides keep it within the tray area, supporting consistent heat transfer across the slab surfaces and between the levels. The tower is insulated with high-density panels, the temperature in each chamber is continuously monitored by sensors, and in the drying chamber humidity is monitored and moisture-laden air is extracted when required. The HeadStart function schedules preheating before the shift begins, so both chambers can reach their operating temperatures before the first slabs enter the line.
Oven dimensions, heating configuration, airflow arrangement and control features are engineered according to the process requirements and production capacity.
