POSITRON — Cyclic Tower Oven

Overview

POSITRON consists of two vertical processing units containing stacked slab trays; during operation, the trays are moved cyclically through a controlled heating environment to provide consistent temperature exposure across the entire slab load. The drying and resin-curing sections are managed by two independent hot-air circulation systems. POSITRON 40, 60 and 80 combine two groups of 20, 30 and 40 slab trays respectively, for total capacities of 40, 60 and 80 slabs. The marble version accommodates slabs up to 2,100 × 3,300 mm and the granite version slabs up to 2,300 × 3,700 mm; oven dimensions, tray construction and handling equipment are adapted to the selected slab format.

The oven can be supplied with electric heating, using serpentine resistance heaters, or with a gas-fired heating system. Steel airflow guides contain and direct the air within the slab-treatment zone so that heat reaches the slab surfaces directly; combined with the fully insulated construction, this helps minimise temperature differences between slab levels and limit heat loss. Chamber temperature is monitored continuously, humidity is measured at several points in the chamber and the moisture-laden air generated during drying is extracted automatically.

The Speedy version is designed for lines requiring shorter slab-handling times and higher throughput: its main movement axes use servo motors and rack-and-pinion drives, and the slab trays are lifted hydraulically using a high-flow power unit. For demanding drying applications, the oven can be fitted with an additional recirculation fan (Enhanced Air Homogeneity Fan) to improve air distribution throughout the chamber. The optional IntelliHot system measures the temperature of slabs leaving the oven and automatically adjusts the heating regime.

Oven dimensions, heating configuration, airflow arrangement and control features are engineered according to the process requirements and production capacity.
