GRAVITON — Static Oven Tower
A fully insulated static oven tower dedicated to one thermal process: drying natural stone slabs before resin application or curing them after resin treatment.
Overview
Each GRAVITON tower is dedicated to a single thermal process. In the drying configuration it removes residual moisture from the slabs before resin application, helping prepare the stone surface, pores and fissures for resin penetration; in the curing configuration it maintains the controlled thermal environment required for the polymerisation of epoxy, polyester or other compatible resin systems. In a resin treatment line, separate towers can be set up for drying and for curing, with the capacity of each selected independently according to its treatment time.
Each slab is carried on its own tray, which is placed at an assigned level of the tower and remains stationary there until the programmed drying or curing time has been completed. An external vertical elevator aligns with the selected level, and a motorised shuttle inserts the tray and retrieves it at the end of the cycle; pneumatically operated chamber hatches open during tray transfer and close immediately afterwards to limit heat loss. The reference configuration accommodates up to 60 slab trays; the tower capacity is determined by the required slabs per hour, the drying or curing time, the slab dimensions and weight, and the available factory space and height.
GRAVITON can be supplied with electric-resistance or natural-gas-fired heating. Recirculating hot air is distributed through internal diffusers, and steel airflow guides keep it within the tray area, supporting consistent heat transfer across the slab surfaces and between the levels. The tower is insulated with high-density panels, the chamber temperature is continuously monitored by sensors, and in drying applications humidity is measured and moisture-laden air is extracted when required. The HeadStart function schedules preheating before the shift begins, so the oven can reach its operating temperature before the first slab enters the line.
For higher capacity, two towers can be built as GRAVITON TANDEM: they stand on opposite sides of one shared central elevator and tray-transfer system, which increases the number of slab-tray positions without a separate elevator and transfer mechanism for each tower. The two towers can serve the same process, work as separate drying and curing towers, or combine a dedicated tower with a GRAVITON COMBI tower.
Oven dimensions, heating configuration, airflow arrangement and control features are engineered according to the process requirements and production capacity.
